Together with FDSC members, we created the “DO! green” guide for eco-friendly event design. When developing the visual identity for the guide, our primary consideration was not to aim for a polished or sleek aesthetic. Additionally, we decided to avoid using the typical “eco-green” that most people associate with environmental themes. This is because practicing eco-friendly design often involves embracing inconvenience, and real nature is far more complex than we typically imagine.

To reflect this, we opted to use handwritten fonts from our team members instead of digital fonts. This choice aligns with the idea that eco-friendliness values diversity. Since this is a collaborative guide, we also thought it fitting to create the logo together. We asked team members to draw letters in a rough and free-spirited way, then combined their work into the final logo. When digitizing the letters, we deliberately retained much of the noise that appears during the process. To enhance visibility, we added irregularly shaped backgrounds resembling protest signs, with rough edges.

The primary color we chose is brown, representing soil, while the secondary colors were completed by referencing energy-efficient color palettes (https://greentheweb.com/energy-efficient-color-palette-ideas/). Although we initially avoided green, we incorporated a dark shade of green sparingly to achieve better harmony.
